"School Counselors are the first line of support for students. Students cannot achieve academically when they cannot cope with social and emotional problems. School Counselors can help guide students in their journey through childhood and adolescence."
-Richard Wong

Welcome Parents, Guardians, Students, and Friends!

SeDoMoCha Elementary School has a comprehensive developmental guidance program in place for grades K-8. There are two certified school counselors, one full time for grades 5-8 and one part time for grades K-4. I am pleased to be the K-4 counselor offering classroom guidance lessons on alternate weeks as well as individual and small group counseling. The K-4 classroom guidance curriculum covers topics such as emotions identification and regulation, making and keeping friends, conflict resolution skills, coping skills, dealing with stress, decision making, problem solving, and goal setting. Small groups meet weekly for 6 weeks as needed and deal with issues such as changing families, dealing with grief and loss, friendship skills, social skills and anger regulation. Some classroom presentations coincide with monthly school wide themes including No Name Calling, Bullying Prevention and Autism Awareness.
If you have any questions, requests or just want to talk about the K-4 guidance program at SeDoMoCha, please feel free to call, email or visit me. I'm at the school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
